We look forward to welcoming you to Oregon this July.
We continue to move forward with our plan for the 2021 SCM 1000 Tour. We are adjusting and adapting our procedures daily in response to changing regulations. We are working closely with all parties involved, from route to lodging to food, to make this a safe and fun experience.
In addition to great Oregon two-lane roads, we have an immersive program planned where we will have nightly “Conversations with Collectors,” “What’s My Car Worth®”-style market evaluations of select cars, and behind-the-scenes tours at our partner The High Desert Museum (www.highdesertmuseum.org).
Every participant in the SCM 1000 will receive a membership in the museum and you can visit it as many times as you wish during the tour. Their shows featuring raptors that they have rescued are not to be missed. Perhaps you will even adopt a falcon during your stay.
Lava beds, cinder cones and lava tubes from long-ago eruptions will be a part of the tour (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lava_Butte).
There will also be non-speed-related competitions that will lead to the awarding of the “Tiger of the Day” trophy. Bring your lucky charm for the poker hand you will draw on the tour each day. (By the way, if you don’t like the card you draw, for a $5 donation to the High Desert Museum you can turn it back in and draw another!)
